Hello.

Yes, when you use the powder you sprinkle a tiny amount in the ear and then it makes it easier to pull out the hairs. The hair without the powder is a bit greasy and hard to pull, the powder soaks up the grease so you can get a better hold. Gimborn sells a good powder and I think you can get it at Petsmart or online at PetEdge. You can use peroxide to clean the ears with a cotton ball. Just put a small amount on your cotton ball and wipe the ears.
