Yahtzee had her first litter late evening and I took her to the vet first thing in the morning (about 12 hours from first pup and 8 from last). The vet scoulded me good for not having given her a bath. I now give my momas a bath about 12 hours after whelping BEFORE GOING TO THE VET.
I take the moma with me to the vet, as she only charges one office visit, and she can check them all. My main vet is closed on Saturday and Sunday, so I have a Saturday backup vet.
We dock tails and remove dew claws ourselves!
