Liver compromised dogs can't store glucose like healthy dogs, so they have to eat. You can't wait these dogs out because they can get very sick, and not eating can cause neurological symptoms in them.
When Miko refuses food, I give him a little Pediasure every 3-4 hours to open up his appetite. This helps keep Miko from having his blood glucose levels drop and it maintains him until he will eat again.
Remember, small frequent meals.
