Oh cool! I live around here. The other poster saying Gruene is right, they have stores like that. According to their website they just had their Monthly Market Days this past weekend..!
so just missed that...(they have lots of booths out then.) or go to Fredericksburg Texas, but they're kinda touristy up there now. Closer would be Bracken Village. If you go 1604 to Nacogdoches Road, and then turn on it and head away from the city (drive by Rolling Oaks Mall), then keep going out maybe 5 miles or so, and you'll see Bracken Village. They have lots of stores like that with crafts. Here's their website:
