A tiny Toy Breed around a 2 year old child in my mind is not a good idea unless you are willing & able to supervise at all times..these little dogs are extremely fragile!! Toys breeds, especially Yorkies, are not the easiest to toilet train either! and in new surroundings a new pup will more than likely have quite a few accidents! a penned off area will save your carpets. Goodluck in whatever you decide!
