I'm making mine some of the pads that you can wet to keep them cool (didn't check the cooler bed link, but I suspect it's the same thing).....I'm making a couple to fit into their carriers and a bigger one for the house. We do have A/C but sometimes it still feels warm.

Also, I just saw something pretty cool the other day....I have no idea who makes them; a friend bought one at the street fair here for $12...they're little personal misters..... looks similar to one of the battery operated toothbrushes, but the bottom part is sort of cylindrical and clear, and you fill it up with cold water. The top part has a sort of suction cup looking part (for lack of a better description) and when you push the little button, it emits a fine cool mist. I thought I"d get a couple of those for when we go out during the summer to use for the dogs.
