Good morning ladies,
Just a quick up date on Lacey and her pups. Babies are both doing real good. Both babies are gaining about .5 a day.
Mamma is doing well but... I am concerned that she may have milk fever in her upper teats. The teats are not well developed so I it will be hard to get puppies latched on to them to help bring them down. They are not real full but they are a little pink and warm to the touch. I put a hot wash cloth on them this morning and will try it again later. Does anyone else have any other suggestions on what to do? Yesterday she had one of her lower teats a little inflamed but was able help her with the warm cloth and putting a baby on it whenever they fed. By last night was all back to normal. I have never had a female have this prob producing too much milk. She is such a good mamma.
I called the people on my list and everyone wanted to come see the pups. Of course I let them know not until much later.
I will post more pictures of the pups on Friday when they are one week old.
