I couldn't agree more! Dogs establish social order by "control". control of food, control of toys, control of you (yes you, if you are not the alpha in the household). If you have allowed Daphne control up to the point of getting trixie, she is just trying to re-establish her role as alpha. You may have thought you had control but you may not have had it at all, according to dog language, and Daphne has had it all along.
Daphne does not see Trixie as an equal and never will. You need to reaffirm Daphne's position in the household by making her the primary dog, 1st at getting her food, toys, ect. Once Daphne is reassured and her position is re-established, she will be much more lenient about her control because her position is no longer threatened.
