I know from experience that yorkies can swim. We were at our home in florida last week. We live on the bay. Lola saw a heron resting on our bulkhead, went after the bird, it flew away and she took a swan dive off the bulkhead into the water. My husband was frantic as there are a few large alligators in the water!
She went under, came up and started to paddle to the shore. My husband had wade in to get here cause she would not have been able to get up on the bulkhead. We hope she will never do that again, cause for sure an alligator will get her if she does!!
