Yes - Luxating Patella is when their knee cap slides back and forth, it's not life threatening, but it can be painful and cause discomfort and arthritis. Do a search on Luxating Patella and you'll find a wealth of information. LP is Graded 1 to 4 and 4 being the worst case. IMO Grade 3 and 4 should have surgery (by a Board Cert. Ortho Specialist) to correct the luxation and not cause any further damage, as LP doesn't correct itself, and does only get to the worst grade at 'some' point, but each dog is different as to the rate of luxation damage.
