Take the 86th Street crosstown bus (M86) to York Avenue. From York Ave you just walk one block and you are on East End and 86th st, the entrance of the park. That's what I got from the map About.com: http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/manbus.pdf and also searched the directions to the park. Wow I just found you can also go BY BOAT: New York Waterway's East River Shuttle, from Pier 11, Wall Street or East 34th Street, stops at 90th Street. One way, $5; (800) 533-3779.
