I love these barking stories! I seldom hear a bark out of Kacee unless I ignore her, which is seldom. She will lay down and stare at me and bark one time at me. If I intentionally continue to ignore her, she will bark again.
I remember one time there was a kid that ran away from a juvenile home a few miles away from here and Muffin saw him while she was looking out the windows. He was in some trees, running, and she told on him. Law enforcement were all over after that report and finally caught him. Funny thing was that the juvenile home didn't even know he was gone. Muffin was a heroine that day!
