I have a male & female Yorkie, my husband has a male & female AmStaff. The AmStaffs have a large pen on the side of our house - My Gizmo currently weighs 4.3 lbs at 10 months, he is small enough to walk between the bars of the pen. He goes in walks up to the food bowl and the 2 bigs dogs back up & lay down and wait until Giz is done eating before moving to the food again. Babs is my 4 year old teapot and she weighs in at a hefty 11 lbs - the only animal in the house that doesn't bow down to her is my son's 11 year cat Katrina - she is the maitriarc (spelled wrong) of the furbutts and my second in charge (we call her the surrogate mom because she cuddles my skin babies & Babs pups so Babs can have a few alone minutes). I agree with what someone else said, when adding a big breed bring in a pup.
