I've got a 5.6lb male and a 3.5ishlbs female Yorkie and they hold their own and "rough house" with the larger dogs with out issue. (Larger dogs being- Akitas; Black Russian Terrier and American Bulldog right now)
If I leave the house, the Yorkies are locked up seperate from the big dogs JUST IN CASE.....if I am not in the house to keep an ear out or an eye on them to supervise, it's not worth risking and so I lock them up.
