toby is my guard dog too....... he lays on my feet and will even bark at my fiance at times when i am sleeping (in his opinion i guess i am vulnerable in that state from the nasty "man that lives with us").... we have a corner apartment unit so anyone that walks by will get woofed at (he doesnt bark incessantly..... just low "woofs" to let us know that someone is there........ unless he is startled by my fiance and he doesnt want him to approach me..... then he will get mean)... the guy who sold him to us warned us that he would do that
