I didn't realize the possible dangers of breeding a small dog. I would die if something happened to Bella! She's more important to me than offsetting her costs. Also, I've come to realize how important it is to maintain a certain standard in breeding. I've learned all of this by reading others posts which I really appreciate. But I have to say, had I come to this site and asked for advise and was attacked as I've seen others attacked I would have left the site and not returned and probably would still be planning on breeding her. I've learned a lot over time. When I read the ones that are attacking I basically gloss over them, I don't "listen" because I'm too busy focusing on the tone of the reply. It's ok to disagree with someone and caution them on things they may want to do, just do it nicely. Most people don't have bad intentions, I didn't. We just need to be educated but we don't learn from people who talk down to us, judge us or attack us - we tune them out. |
You are so right.. that is a great post.....we need to try to keep these people and not attack them..then they will learn more and more.. maybe saying wait till the next heat would have gotten her to end up learning more..
I have just watched amanda's thread about having her first litter and came here for help.. it was such a please and i might add fun that so many stuck around for the whelping and now the baby pictures..It is so easy to get in attack mode..but we all need to try to help.. I know since I have been here we have lost many to those kinds of threads..
Yet some can come on here and wow.. get help and another can come on here and the posts are so bad.. we lose them....anne
