Should I just force him to get used to it you think? |
I use them on my one boy, Madison b/c he's not neutered (YET) and he marks...they work great, and he thinks he's really special getting to wear one, LOL! I think sometimes they act kind of funny when you put things on them that they aren't used to...I know that when I put some things on my Max, he acts like he's all depressed and it's like he thinks he's been bad and is being punished...which, he's NEVER been, LOL! But they just get that attitude....I think maybe they're just a little scared or something b/c it's new and they don't know what it is. Do make sure that's it's snug but not too tight on him.....as long as he can't wriggle around and either get it off or turn it around too much...b/c you don't want the pads moving much....I usually use 2 pads on mine...one sort of at the bottom of the pad and then layer the other one over the top so it is more at the top..it's like you never know where it's going to spritz! I doubt the fabric is irritating him unless it's really rough (and mine are cotton on one side, flannel on the other, and reversible and neither side bothers Madison), so I think he just isnt' quite sure what to make of it. When I go to put Madison's on, I make it like it's a real treat and tell him how handsome he looks (or cute, depending on the day, hehe) in it...he's always so happy for me to put it on. I change the pads very freq. though...but mainly b/c I'm home almost all the time and I let them run outside in the back yard a lot....so I always take it off Madison when he goes out (or he'll just wet it thru), and then I can check the pads and either change or not change them....
