My poodle, Indy, had to wear belly bands the last few months of his life. They were a blessing. He didn't like them to begin with but finally got used to them. He would stand perfectly still with this "deer in the headlights" look. Poor little guy. After a few days, he was OK with them. Be sure they aren't too tight on him though. I made Indy's so I could adjust them to his weight. They are very simple to make. Another thing I was careful about was to wipe him with baby-wipe disposable towelettes so he didn't get irritated skin. I warmed them in the microwave a bit so they weren't cold. He was quite elderly and I didn't want to give him more stress than necessary.

Good luck with your belly bands. Just stay on track and he'll get used to them.
