I'm a little smarter now, but still love the sun and being tan. I do use a tanning bed during the winter months (like to relax in the bed). I'll build a base tan with about 8 visits during a month and then maintain with one visit a week. I tan easily and also hold my tan for a long time. I don't go lots because I'll reach a certain color and not get any darker. I like Bananaberry Tini by Fiesta Sun. It smell good and also has a bronzer in it. I do use eye protection, but I'll take them off for the last minute so I don't end up with raccoon eyes.
Thankfully, my skin still looks youthful and I don't have many sun spots. Guess I was blessed with good genes!!!! Tanning is my one and only vice and I feel so much better with a tan, plus I really think it helps my mental health. And I really do spend much less time baking on my deck chair by stopping in for an occasional tanning session. |
I am blonde and blue eyed. All of the pics from my childhood are of this cotton top kid with blue eyes and mocha skin! I was raised in a foster home so I really don't know my roots...not sure the nationalities in my background but I bet we had dark skin! As a teenager I slathered the baby oil mixed with iodine...old timey bronzer!

I guess I am like you that my skin is holding up really well for my age...I will be 49 my next birthday and don't have any age spots but do have wrinkles...but I attribute them to laughter, cause when I laugh, that is where the wrinkles light up!

And I am with you on the sun helping you feel better! I really get SAD (not sure what that stands for - some type of disorder you get on bleak winter days without sunshine) during the winter months.
