Uno has been having this problem. I really don't know what to do. He gets excited and then honks and I can hear the tissue almost sticking together, and he has a hard time breathing. Poor baby last week had bug eyes because he couldn't get air. The vet said it could be the beginning of a collapsing trachea, so we have steroids for him, but obviously he can't be on those for the rest of his life. He is usually on them for about 3 days at a time, but he still has problems now and then. Has anyone ever dealt with collapsed trachea and how did they take care of it/prevent it/vet opinions/surgery costs- ANYTHING! I would love to know what other owners are doing or have done that works.
Uno is only a year old, and he has NEVER had a collar around his neck. He only wears a harness. Please, more thoughts! |
