Ladies, it should be standard procedure to put a computer in the whelping box with an I-cam so we could all watch and listen. I'm starting a campaign for an I-cam in every whelping box. |
In regard to Ruby, take a warm wash cloth and massage the teat, get milk to expell. If normal milk is coming out, you will just need to keep doing this several times a day until it gets back to normal. If the milk isn't "chunky", discolored or smelly I'm almost sure you don't need a trip to the vet's. Let us know how she does.
Also, if the milk is normal, get a pup to suckle on that one once you have worked with it once or twice. They get that way if the pups tend to favor a few and neglect others.
