I think the reason she chose this was because the judges have been telling her all along that broadway/show tunes is her niche. They do often send mixed messages to these contestants. They did that to Carly too. Told her she was hot hot hot doing one thing, then poo poo'd her for it the next time.
And OMG on that awful song Fantasia did! I saw Simon's face. He was thinking "Wot wez thot" for sure!
