egads, what is my girlfriend going to do about her yorkie's behavior... my friend has a 3 year old female yorkie, 3 lbs., adorable, uncontrollable. first of all, she is a hyper little dog, seldom sleeps when my friend is home thru the day, she's constantly on the move, but the problems are with urinating and defecating.
My friend works, but has installed a doggie door so her dog can go out on the patio, she also has a piddle pad in her utility room. Despite the fact that she has a doggie door, she holds her bladder until my friend gets home. She's also a nervous wetter, so that, coupled with the excitement of seeing her, has her peeing all over the place. She also pees in her bed, yesterday she had her work clothes on the bed, she peed on them. She poops on her couch, she poops right in front of my friend. She disciplines her consistently, nothing works.
I think it's aggression, but what is she going to do. She's about at her wit's end with her doing this. She won't go potty on her piddle pad unless my friend goes with her. I think that she is so frustrated with this, that her anxiety is making her dog act worse, but I have no idea what to tell her. She tries ignoring her, nothing is helping with this nervous wetting, that coupled with the full bladder, well you can imagine.
She's a sweet little dog, I think she has her owner trained, not vice versa, but what is she going to do to correct this? Would obedience training help?
Thanks for any insight you can give me. I've never had problems with my fur kids, so I'm of little help. |
