KiKi does both......I take her out first thing in the am...and tell her potty....no problem...and when we are in...she uses the pad..she has not yet gone to the door when needs to go..she just goes to the pad.....
When I pad trained her...I put her on the pad a lot and said "go Potty" and each time she went..I praised her "good potty" and gave her a treat....
