we had that same problem with my sister's chi and we ended up finding a lady who does anesthesia free cleaning. It takes longer,but she wraps them up in a blanket like a burrito and cuddles them while she cleans. There might be some one in your town who does this or someone will come to your house. Poor Pia
I hope you can find someone who can do it without putting her under.
