Wellness, Canidae, Innova, California Natural, Solid Gold and Natural Balance are all great foods. Most you'll have to go to a feed store or a specialty store to find but Petco carries Solid Gold and Natural Balance. Nature's Variety also makes high quality kibble in addition to raw.

As far as the transition goes, I would introduce it VERY slowly..maybe over two weeks? Start out by adding 25% new food to 75% old food. Then after 3-4 days add 50% new food.. then after 3-4 more days add 75% new food. Keep going until you're at 100% new food!
