Default Does anyone have a large yorkie?

My mother has a 4 month old yorkie that is almost 7 pounds. When she saw the vet today she told my mom that she didn't believe that her dog was a purebred yorkie because a purebred would never be that big and because his ears aren't standing up. My mom is very upset and is now questioning if the breeder lied to her about the puppy. The puppies parents were only 3 and 6 pounds. The breeder estimated that the puppy she sold my mom would be about 6-7 pounds full grown. This was obviously not the case. I also bought a yorkie from the same breeder but from a different litter- my female is 3 1/2 months old and 2.6 pounds. I really like the breeder and she still calls me to see how the puppies are- do I say anything to the breeder or is the vet wrong in accusing her of misrepresenting her AKC yorkie puppies? I know I have heard of other yorkies being larger than the standard 3-7 pound range- does that mean that if they are bigger, they are not purebred?????? Also, if he is 7 pounds at 4 months- how big will he get?
