I didn't start out "duel" training, but that is exactly how I have ended up. When I first got Lexie , she was 10wks old and so tiny. I didn't want my baby to go outside in the cold (we live in Northeast Ohio) I got the brilliant idea to "litter" train her, which turned out to be a HUGE fiasco!! She ended up thinking it was ok to potty in the house. After that, I did make multiple die hard attempts to get her to go outside only. BUT as it ended up, she won't go out when its raining, snowing, windy, ect (yes- I know she's a brat
To make a long story short, I have pee pads in my house for her (which FINALLY she uses consistantly) and will also go outside. She prefers to poop outside, but as far as peeing, she is not picky- when she has to go, she has to go. It HAS actually worked out well, because when we had over a foot of snow earlier this yr- she didn't have to go outside. I have heard it confuses them to learn both, but for us it has worked, BUT you have to be prepared for accidents occasionally and really work with them. GOOD LUCK!!
