We have a grooming section that might give you better answers to the coat question. Most yorkies can take a once a week bath, but it's important to use a conditioner. Some people suggest that if you don't rinse really well the coat get dirty faster, but I think some dogs just are oilier. I've read about oatmeal-based shampoos that are good for sensitive skin.
