Raw would be my recommendation too - but wow, shipping is tough. You could do freeze dried medallions - but that's about $20 a bag.
Otherwise, the most "yummy" kibble I know of is Orijen - dogs tend to go nutty for its taste - you may have to order it, but if he eats it - it's probably worth it. Otherwise, Natures Variety Instinct might be another one to try (kibble and canned).
