Spay surgery due to bleeding I can't remember who wanted me to let them know why my mom was still bleeding after 9+ weeks after delivery, so I am doing another post... otherwise I would of pm'd the person.
Anyways, surgery went fine, and according to the vet my "mom" was in a constant heat, without the swelling of her bottom. Her bleeding was getting worse, and her mood was not the best... this was due to the hormones of after birth, and being in a constant heat.
She is now recovering great (she will still let the pups try and suckle, right next to the incision- they are over 10 weeks now)
But her mood is so much better now, she is back to her ole self again... I didn't realize how much I missed that.
My vet referred so many people to me for these pups that I have more people calling than I ever thought to buy one of my guys... it is quite a compliment for the vets to be referring us, but both of my boys are sold. I am keeping the girl... the vet thinks we should consider breeding her (if she grows up to be within the akc standards) but regardless of how she grows up, we are not going to continue on with my dream of breeding yorkies.
I know that it was a very emotional experience for me, my emotions were increased because of the death of my long time companion 2 days before birth, which was a week early (daisy may she rest in peace) and a death of my family member (may he rest in peace)... but I think that each time I breed it will bring me back to this time in my life that I would rather forget.
It may not make sense to many, but I am an emotional person.... I used to think that was a "plus" in my personality, but not any more... lol.
Anyways, thanks all for the advice and help. |
