While I do agree that Jason and David C are in some ways "opposite", I do think the same sort of people like both. While the music wasn't the same, I think a lot of people were David C (#1) and Jason (#2) fans. I'm not sure I see the college age crowd that would support Jason turning to young David A. But then this brings up the point that you don't like, Megan,
about it not being JUST a singing competition. American Idol also includes "who do you identify with?".

I really agree. I think that it really was uncalled for. I've seen worse contestants that late in the game that weren't bashed so badly. I really think that Jason's laid back personality really grated on Randy and Simon. I don't think they felt he took it seriously enough (whether he did or not, I don't know how anyone knows; but I think it bugged 'em that he wasn't so intense).
