I can see where she wouldn't have known about the dungeon. There are kids who run away and no matter how hard they are searched for they are never found. The dungeon had a very secret and intricate entrance so I don't really know how she could have known about it. What I don't believe is that he molested his daughter in their home for 7 or more years and she didn't know.
