Most wormers are for hookworms and roundworms. If you suspect tapeworms, make sure you buy a product labeled for them. Dogs get tapeworms by ingesting fleas so if your dog hasn't had fleas, most likely it isn't tapeworms. As someone posted earlier, they look like rice grains in the poo but if a segment doesn't break off, you may never see anything. They don't always show up in fecal tests unless a piece breaks off so it can be tricky to find them.
