Since Mia was little I pu things in her hair so she was use to it. When I got Cody the lady said "oh he hates his face touched" so he had God awful tearstains and a shaggy head. Well that lasted 1 day after I got him home I lovingly sat him on my lap and washed his face and combed his hair and but on a rubber band. He resisted at first and I gentle held his beard until he saw who was the packleader. This went on for about 2 weeks until he saw no matter what he did I was going to wash his face and put that rubberband on his head. I would always say "good boy" and give him a treat when we were finished. He still hates to have his face touched but he allows me to groom him without a problem. Peanut saw the other 2 and just let me do whatever to him.
Consistancy and patience. You may want to put her on a counter top with a towel underneath to have her feel a little unsecure and she should stay still long enough to do a topknot on her. Remember to praise and give her a treat afterwards. |
