You can check Craig's List for chicks, alot of people will get them from hatcheries and then post the extras on there. There is also a website called My Pet Chicken: Purchase a Chicken Coop, Baby Chicks, Raise Chickens in Your Backyard, Learn About Chicken Breeds! that lets you order just a few chicks.
