While boiling does make them a little more tender, it's totally not necessary if you marinade them for a few hours. And by all means, let them thaw out on their own, that helps even more. Set them in a covered bowl on the kitchen counter before you go to bed and they'll usually be thawed when you get up in the morning.

I usually try to keep the grill heated to 325 degrees and cook them off to the side of the fire. It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size and amount of ribs I cook.
