I love the free wireless and buying books off Amazon is 3-4 dollars cheaper than say Sony books. But...being honest Nikki, I don't think I recommend for children/young adults yet. The only reason being is if they read books with any illustrations they do not come out best on the Kindle (yet). I would wait for the next generation if I were you

I know the price seems high, however at 3-7 dollar savings off buying hardback/paperback books it will pay for itself for me in no time. Also, I have downloaded 20 + classics (Wuthering Heights, To Kill a Mocking Bird, just to name a couple) at no cost.

As with anything I recommend everyone read the forum boards, etc. before making a decision but for me it's love!

Thanks for the information. My daughter is 13 and an avid reader and reads at an adult level so no illustrations but... the cost will probably be the deal breaker for now. I wont bother with the less expensive ones though- I'll just wait a bit and hope the cost comes down. That is a really cool product though!

eta- now that I reconsider the idea of FREE classics... That is really fantastic!
