Tiger Kennel: my personal experience I stumbled upon this post and felt compelled to reply. I do not believe that TIger Kennel is anything but a superior facility and Mr. Kim a most excellent breeder. Here's my story: I bought my sweet little Yorkie, Lily from Mr. Mike Kim. Mr. Kim is Korean I believe and yes, he is a serious gentleman and perhaps a bit difficult to understand. But, that is to be expected of anyone who is English-second language, don't you think? My experience was excellent. I visited several breeders before buying from Tiger Kennel. I made numerous different unplanned and unannounced visits to Mr. Kim and found the dogs, home and yard utterly immaculate each time. I was invited inside the home to see the newest litter on one occasion. I was not allowed to disturb them, but they were in a lovely, clean area with their mother. None of the dogs were shaved when I was there, all were clean and even being bathed once when I showed up. I saw some in Kennels/runs outside and four or five at a time were always out to play in the yard each time I was there. They had a beautiful orchard-like area, a fenced yard area, and a delightful area complete with LIttle Tikes gyms that Mr. Kim had for them. I arrived one day to find Mr. Kim administering vaccines to some pups. The playpen these pups were in was immaculate and as one would potty, Mr. Kim would remove one of the layers of paper. Mr. Kim also had an assistant each time I was there. I was always allowed to play with the pups of a suitable age after using the anti-bacterial lotion provided to me, showing tremendous concern for the pups. I asked to see both parents of the pups I was considering and asked many questions about colors of Yorkies in adulthood. I expressed an interest in perhaps breeding once and Mr. Kim indicated that I should then choose a Yorkie not too small...not less than 4 lbs as she would have too difficult a time breeding and he couldn't recommend it. He let me take my time, bring back my husband, son and Mother-in-law on many occasions and was always patient and helpful to me. This was last year. I did buy my baby from him, after experiencing far less professional and pleasant experiences with the other breeders I was considering. Mr. Kim's concern for his babies was so professional and sincere, that I had to wait until my pup was a suitable age and size to come home with me, a time he indicated would be sometime after 8 weeks, depending upon my availability to be very close to home in the first few weeks. His concern was touching. I bought a beautiful little girl, named her Princess Tiger-Lily (Lily) after the esteemable Mr. Kim and his kennel, I received her papers without problem, received some food for her, instructions on her shots, etc and some discussion about hypoglycemia in wee Yorkies and cautions about her care. I even received a lovely Varikennel from Mr. Kim... all for the very agreeable price of $1800. Lily went immediatley for her well-check to our family vet who deemed her to be in superb condition! Mr. Kim indicated to me that to his best guess, Lily would be close to 4 lbs. She is in fact now one year and three months old and weighs in at 4.1 lbs. She has never been sick, is lovely, well socialized and adored by all. People routinely stop me in the street to say that she is gorgeous. My vet continues to say how she is the picture of perfection in health and the lovely lady who owns the dog shop I frequent for Lily's clothing always tells everyone who will listen, "Oh! Here's Lily. She is the most beautiful Yorkie I have ever seen!" I cannot imagine a more excellent breeder with whom to do business and I hope that this was helpful to anyone seeking a healthy and wonderful Yorkie baby.
