I started feeding a prey model raw diet and yorkiechick1 did a great job of explaining the difference. I basically shop for my dogs at the grocery store just like I shop for my family except that I don't buy them the best cuts of meat or chicken. For instance, my family likes chicken breast but I normally feed the dogs thighs and legs but I can feed them a breast if I want to. I typically feed whatever it is with some bone since them benefit in several ways from that. I also want to say that it is not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be when I first started and it makes me really feel good that I am feeding my dogs the best possible diet for them and they enjoy eating so much more than they used to. My older collie was always underweight and a picky eater and the difference in her is amazing! I've only been feeding them prey model for 2 weeks now but I'm truly a convert! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask and feel free to pm me!
