I'll hold him up close to me really tight, and hold whatever leg is getting done out. I'll constintly praise him while he's getting them done, telling him "it's o.k" and "goodboy", etc. I don't know if my calming voice is what does the trick, but it does help. I don't know if that would completly solve the issue with little Stedman, but try it out it might help just a little bit. Also, try letting him sniff the clippers, or whatever you are using so he isn't afraid of the device. Maybe just do a couple each night, and after each session give him his favorite treat, or take him for a walk. |
Oh girl I SO WISH this worked

But I have tried exactly what you said soooo many times....and he STILL acts like a little nut when I try to clip his nails

He is just such a BABY...I cannot describe him. LOL. He will see a 100 lb dog in the street and stand up to him and act like he is a little Pitt Bull that is going to rip the 100 lb dogs head off - but he throws a little HISSY FIT when he sees the clippers or hears the bath water running

Omg, he is just so pathetic about the silliest, simplest little things!
I can honestly say, he is more scared of a BRUSH than a dog that is 10 X's his size
