I've always bathed my Westie once a month and planned on doing the same for my new Yorkie, but found that she needs one once a week. She's also on the couch and everywhere else in the house, so it makes that much of a difference.

All I have to do for my Westie is brush him every few days...Trixie (Yorkie) needs a brush just about daily. I love it when she's clean ... she gets more hugs.

I think Westies are more proned to dry skin.
