Babsy is always aware of her surroundings and will bark when startled but even when she & her pups were in the whelping box she was just very watchful and attentive but never aggressive. She isn't even aggressive with Gizmo who is at the "I just learned I have boy parts so I am going to try to hump Babsy every second of the day even though she isn't in heat" stage.
