OOOPs, sorry, nix the question about first litter, I just saw that. and it IS normal for her not to stay in the box ALL the time, just popping in and out to nurse and clean them is what most do. This is why I like the heating pad under half. The pups will wiggle to the warm end if they are chilly and mom's on break.
