You can get Lotrimin and other anti-fungal meds & washes at the pharmacy or on amazon. You don't need a prescription or anything. Unless you get it on your scalp, those should work for you. You need to watch for little bumps that kind of look like pimples and that can be the start of it.

One of my puppies had ringworm (my vet told me it has just been rampant this year in San Diego). The vet prescribed him Tresaderm, but vets can't prescribe people anything, so they shouldn't try to sell YOU something.

It took a while to get rid of the ringworm on my puppy, but neither I or my husband ever got it. The vet tried Tresaderm (topical) and dipping him (my puppy not my husband), but that didn't seem to get rid of it. We ended up going with an oral medicine, and that got rid of it really quickly.

Its a pain, but its not the worst thing. It is best to start treating it I think because it could spread and you need to really get rid of it too I've read or it can come back frequently.
