I think it is important, if a breeder does not have the experince to be sure all is well..and what I mean is.. palpitate the uterus to make sure all the pups and placenta's are delivered..then give an oxyie shot of the correct amount to prevent problems..then a daily temp for a week and watch for other symptoms of problems...
