I'm not a breeder, so take this with a grain of salt. I know on the farm when a mother gives birth to a low-weight (runt) or sick kitten she will remove it from the litter and let it die. Does the mother refuse to feed it? Does she take it away from the litter and leave it somewhere else or just carry it around? I would have it checked by the vet to see if it's sick or just the runt. If it's just a runt the behavior might stop once the pup gets stronger and seems less weak.
