 litter size
I have bred for many years..litters have been from 1 to 7 pups with the average litter being 3 to 4.
I have never found the size of the mother had baring on the number. It had bearing on the ease of the gestation and whelping, nursing and after care by the mom. I have had big 7 pound girls have one puppy and 5 pounders have 7. They were all fed the same, had the same life, genes and care..it is like rolling the dice and waiting for the number to appear.
