I feel your pain
Chooie is 9 months and he still has "accidents". I follow all the rules, I take him out as soon as I get home and after he eats..... HE does well and goes to the door, but it seems the more space I give him he tends to forget where the door is.....(if you know what I mean). I dont know what to do it's so fustrating some days. My carpet is trashed. I already bought a carpet shampoo machine, because I'm paranoid that the house will smell. I scold him and raise my voice and if I can't him in the act I sweep him up and out the door he goes......But these little guys a sneaky. If I am watching TV he will go to the kitchen and pee there when I'm not looking????? Does it ever get better ...IDK?
