Gizmo has learned to be still while I gently pull the hair from each side of the burr, then it slips out. If there are some really bad ones, I either cut them out or they just fall out very easily in the bath. Where we live the burrs are very pointy and do hurt. While out walking if Giz starts lifting his feet I scoop him up and head for home. Dang burrs, my dad said to get some Weed B Gone and spray the sticker patches in our yard. It kills everything but the grass. Just kind of leary. Good luck! I also hate it when he comes home with pollen looking pods stuck all over him...a gift from the neighbors.
